For the past four years, we at KenTen Writers Group have scheduled a writers retreat for our group. Last year, we included several authors who were outside our group and enjoyed what we learned from them. In planning the next retreat, we decided to open it even more authors to include thirty (30) people.
Our retreat will be at beautiful Paris Landing State Park in Buchanan, TN. We have rooms blocked off to accommodate each of you. The plans are coming together for a great learning experience to fill your cup with knowledge and fellowship with other authors.
Monday evening will be the first scheduled meeting with a get-together at a pavilion on the park grounds. Wonderful West Tennessee barbeque will be served and authors will be able to meet and greet others.
Tuesday and Wednesday will begin with a Continental breakfast in our meeting room. We will have a box lunch served for lunch each day. Tuesday night you may eat at the resort or explore the area on your own. Wednesday night, we plan to all go to a restaurant close to the resort and come back for an evening of “who-done-it.” Thursday morning, we will say our good-byes.
Our sessions include sessions on marketing, cover design, punctuation, writing a series and writing a short story. The presenters will be:
Susan Page Davis – Keeping a Series on the Mark
Sandra Robbins – How to Combine Riveting Suspense with Heartwarming Romance
Pam Harris – Punctuation
Diane Turpin – Cover Design
Kathy Cretsinger – Marketing
Susan and Sandra are both multi published authors. Pam is an English teacher and editor for Mantle Rock Publishing. Diane is a graphic artist and cover designer. Kathy is owner of Mantle Rock Publishing. We feel all of these ladies are qualified in their subject.
Time has been set aside for mentoring, brain storming, and critiquing. If you prefer, you may use the free time for writing or exploring Paris Landing. Mentoring and Brainstorming sessions by Sandra Robbins have been filled.
Early Bird Registration fee is $60.00. After April 1, the registration fee will be $70. We are limited to thirty participants.
